You can't cut corners with round cheese
Meyer Cheese have been producing award-winning Dutch style cheeses in the heart of the Waikato since the 80’s. Their techniques and expertise are deeply rooted in the Dutch tradition but the product is proudly local, utilising a farm to plate business model with milk from their own farm pumped directly into vats from the milking shed.
While the product was authentic and delicious, the branding wasn’t telling the full Meyer story, it was time for a refresh. Our job was to bring out the unique Meyer essence and infuse it with a more contemporary look, shifting the brand from homespun and slightly generic to artisan and premium.
Authenticity was key, our focal points were the local provenance story and the strong Dutch cheesemaking heritage. The new labels utilised a bold typeface inspired by classic posters, a simple way of communicating key information in a clean yet modern way. We used a gradient of subtle label colours to amplify the taste descriptions and make the difference between each varietal clear, the oval label adding distinctive shelf appeal.
